CEO & Board of Directors

CEOs and boards are facing ever-growing disruption and responsibilities. In addition to increased shareholder pressure, activists, digital transformation, and ESG, leadership teams must remain focused on the future and the complexities of CEO succession, C-suite buildouts and creating a dynamic and transparent boardroom that encourages diversity of thought, talent, and teams.

GID has a proven global track record of working at the top with efficiency and discretion. Our data-driven advisory approach and extensive global talent network help our clients build inclusive, sustainable leadership teams with the right skills, knowledge, and agility to adapt, change, and remain effective to ensure long-term success.

Legal, Risk, Compliance and Government Affairs

General counsels are expanding their influence within organizations, setting the moral direction rather than simply implementing it. Risk and Compliance officers are being elevated to deal with heightened concerns around data security and regulations. And Government Affairs experts are increasingly needed to help companies solve cross-border challenges.

Top performers within these critical roles anticipate changes and move quickly to not only protect the business but put it in a position to thrive. Our global team understands key legal and regulatory issues, as well as the differentiating attributes that separate successful leaders. Leveraging our diagnostic tools and longstanding relationships with diverse talent across industries, we help clients hire trusted internal advisors with the skills to propel an organization forward.

Marketing, Sales and Strategy Officers

Digitalization and the proliferation of brand touch points have led to ever-expanding customer expectations. These massive shifts have triggered the hybridization of many formerly siloed marketing, sales, strategy, and communications roles. Traditional responsibilities, while still relevant, are giving way to blended models and the need for leaders with increasingly diverse skillsets.

GID is uniquely positioned to understand and solve today’s commercial leadership challenges. We bring a holistic view across roles and deep knowledge across both business-to-business and business-to-consumer operations. Along with our unmatched access to talent, this broad approach affords us a critical advantage when helping clients leverage these critical functions to drive growth and inspire enterprise-wide transformation.

Supply Chain & Operations

Complex, global, time-sensitive supply chains and their increasing strategic importance have raised the bar for supply chain executives everywhere. Against a backdrop of urgency and transformative change, organizations are seeing opportunities to revitalize their operations by investing in next-generation leaders offering new ways of thinking.

Our depth of experience across industries, expertise in the supply chain disciplines, and access to the world’s leading operations talent, uniquely position us to find and develop the best talent to lead your “plan, source, make, deliver” functions. We work with a broad spectrum of organizations to transform their leadership teams — from end-to-end supply chain executives to heads of quality, engineering, EHS, and service operations — to address their unique situations.

Technology Officers

The promise of a digital future has convinced organizations across all industry sectors to adopt more technology-focused business strategies to drive growth. Today’s business landscape is defined by rapid innovation, as advances in cloud computing, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and the internet of things have enabled companies to become lean and agile competitors in the global market.

Leadership plays an essential role in this technology transformation, and we help our clients find and develop next-generation talent necessary to take their organizations to the next level. Our consultants bring unparalleled experience placing diverse and differentiated technology leaders across industries with some of the most admired companies around the world.

Digital Officers

The future is here and it’s more dynamic than ever. It’s a new paradigm measured by outcomes and powered by people and technology.   As organizations face ever-changing business models, customer demands and consumer behavior, they need modern and purpose-driven talent who align and inspire teams, advance digital strategy, and build capabilities to deliver results.

We help our clients thrive by providing a full spectrum of talent spanning strategy, technology, data and analytics, digital marketing, industry 4.0 manufacturing, AI, cybersecurity, and beyond. Strong connectivity across geographies and verticals enables our consultants to engage and equip visionary leaders to succeed in uncertain operating environments and ever-evolving market landscapes.  As digital transforms your organization, we can help identify the specific talent needed to drive breakthrough innovation and make an impact.

Financial Officers

Senior financial positions have evolved from primarily technical functions to multifaceted roles that place them at the forefront of organizations. Increasingly, CFOs and finance executives are responsible for key corporate initiatives such as business transformation and sustainability, relied upon for their leadership as much as their deep-dive financial insights.

We understand the growing influence of financial officers in a rapidly changing world. Our globally connected team places hundreds of C-level candidates annually, fully leveraging our deep expertise across industries and functions. Combining unmatched relationships with proprietary data tools and consulting services focusing on areas such as CEO succession and team acceleration, we have a proven ability to assess and develop talent capable of leading from the very top.

Our team’s expertise spans all core areas of finance leadership, including:

Corporate and divisional CFO
Full finance team assessment, build-out, and development
Controllership and accounting
Audit and risk management
Treasury
Tax
Corporate development, M&A
Investor relations
Financial planning and analysis
Shared services (functional/multi-functional)

Human Capital Officers

Today’s top human resources executives are true strategists, operating beyond traditional HR operations to oversee an organization’s end-to-end talent agenda. They are business leaders who wield influence at the very top, drive digital transformation and corporate culture, and are agile enough to serve in roles ranging from strategic talent advisor, to crisis lead, to diversity and inclusion champion.

GID is uniquely qualified to help companies find and develop this new breed of HR leader. Having defined the global standard for leadership consulting and talent acquisition across a variety of industries, from private equity-backed firms to the Fortune 500, we use a time-tested and highly analytical approach to uncover candidates with the unique blend of skills to meet the ever-evolving demands of this dynamic function.

Diversity and Inclusion Officers

Companies can no longer thrive with average performance on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I). Increasingly, having an inclusive culture is becoming the value proposition that sorts out the winners from the losers in the war for talent. In our work across sectors and regions, we see that to attract and retain top talent, leaders must create an environment where individuals from all backgrounds can flourish and contribute their full set of skills and capabilities. Companies that don’t will struggle to compete.

We are specialist in this area an dour search benefits of an inclusive culture go far beyond the ability to attract top talent, as an increasing body of research clearly shows. Indeed, the best leaders know that an inclusive culture is a strategic asset that can accelerate growth, innovation, and performance. This creates a virtuous circle where diverse and inclusive companies attract and retain the best talent and develop higher-performing, more innovative teams. They also better reflect their markets and anticipate and meet changing customer needs, which, in the long run, increases their market share. In today’s volatile market, leaders can’t afford to overlook such compelling advantages.

Terms and Conditions

The Global Institute of Directors (“GID”) operates an online director vacancy listing and application platform called Directorship Opportunities (the “Platform”). The following set of terms and conditions govern the use of the Platform by:

  • organisations  that are advertising their own directorship opportunities (‘Advertisers’); and
  • members of the GID who access the Platform to view and apply for directorship opportunities for themselves (‘Applicants’).
